ABOUT KLARA
I was born in Austria and am now based on Kalymnos, where I work as a passionate climber and climbing photographer. I started climbing at the age of 15. Later, while living in Asia in my early twenties, climbing quickly became the greatest passion of my life.
Besides climbing, I love my work as an outdoor photographer. I also make music as a singer and DJ, and music and dance are another very important part of my life. I love travelling because I believe it's the best form of education. Climbing has given me the opportunity to explore beautiful places and meet inspiring people from all over the world.
My hardest redpoint grade is 8a+.
SHOOT A QUESTION
- Warm up or warming up by climbing? Yoga and mindfulness in the morning and warming up by climbing.
- Coffee or matcha? Coffee.
- Climb in silence or with music? Both but I often climb with my earplug on one side as then it feels like dancing and gives me a good flow in my movements.
The kind of music varies from electronic to hip hop depends on my mojo. - Pull ups or hanging? Hanging.
- Favourite snack in the crags? Digestiv - nuts - boiled egg.
- Lead or boulder? Lead.
- Alone or with group? Depends but sport climbing is nice in a pair to project or with some friends to have a nice time on the cliff.
- Static or dyno? Static.
5 QUESTIONS FOR KLARA
1. What's your biggest f**k up in your climbing life?
The rappel from Riglos in the dark with the strongest wind I ever experienced and some sketchy moments but we made it..:)
2. If you could pick anyone from the climbing history or the present climbers, who would you love to go climb with and why?
I think Janja is a very impressive and beautiful personality which would be great to meet for sure.
3. What is your dream line?
There are so many dream lines so it's a hard to pick just one. Here on Kalymnos I would be happy to send Nadir.
4. What's your favourite part of being in the Rafiki team?
I love to work with Rafiki. They are my favorite shootings. Everybody have a really nice vibe, the brand is amazing. They trust my creativity and it’s super fun to design the shootings.
5. What's your advice for the climbers of all levels?
Have fun, enjoy the movements and the moments on the rocks and the community and nature. Respect our nature of course. Don´t underestimate the power of your mind. Never give up and let go of your ego. It will make your live easier and it will make you a even better climber:)
