Sabrina Stromberger

Sabrina Stromberger

Austrian climber, cyclist and skier

MEET SABRINA

I was born in Austria and I’ve been climbing for several years now.

Besides climbing, I love road cycling, skiing, fitness and being outdoors in general.

My biggest success in climbing was climbing in Red Rocks Nevada, which had always been a dream of mine, and also climbing the Matterhorn.

SHOOT A QUESTION

  • Warm up or warming up by climbing?  Warming up by climbing – I like to get into the flow directly on the wall.
  • Coffee or matcha?  Coffee, always.
  • Climb in silence or with music?  Mostly in silence – I like to be focused. But sometimes music helps, usually chill or techno depending on the vibe.
  • Pull ups or hanging?  Hanging – finger strength is everything.
  • Favourite snack in the crags?  Something simple like a bar or dried fruit – and coffee of course.
  • Lead or boulder?  Lead, definitely.
  • Alone or with group?  With a small group – good vibes but still focused.
  • Static or dyno? Static – I prefer control over risk.

5 QUESTIONS FOR SABRINA

1. What's your biggest f**k up in your climbing life?
Trusting the wrong beta and getting completely pumped mid-route – nothing dramatic, but definitely a lesson learned.

2. If you could pick anyone from the climbing history or the present climbers, who would you love to go climb with and why?
Probably someone like Alex Honnold – not for the free soloing, but for his mindset and calmness. I think you could learn a lot from that.

3. What is your dream line?
Big alpine multipitch routes in Yosemite – combining adventure, exposure and endurance. That’s what climbing means to me.

4. What's your favourite part of being in the Rafiki team?
Being part of a community that shares the same passion and lifestyle – and working with a brand that really fits me.

5. What's your advice for the climbers of all levels?
Be consistent, stay patient and enjoy the process – progress comes naturally if you keep showing up.
