MEET ALBA

I was born in Barcelona and started climbing in 2017.

My biggest success in climbing…maybe my first 8a and sending Arqueológico, the most overhanging route I did; I had to train a lot to be able to send it, it was a big challenge because it was a style that didn’t suit me at all.

I’m a series and cinema freak, especially the making offs.

SHOOT A QUESTION

  • Warm up or warming up by climbing?  Both! It depends of the crag and the route!
  • Coffee or matcha? Give me caffeine please!
  • Climb in silence or with music? In silence always!
  • Pull ups or hanging?  Hanging…But if my coach is watching, I’ll say pull-ups XD.
  • Favourite snack in the crags? Fruit pouch!
  • Lead or boulder?  Lead.
  • Alone or with group? Company is always the best part of climbing.
  • Static or dyno? Static but I’m working to improve my dyno skills.

5 QUESTIONS FOR ALBA

1. What's your biggest f**k up in your climbing life?
I was trying this old project and had to skip a draw on a section pretty low down. I'd fallen there before, but this time my belayer gave me way too much slack. I took such a huge whip that I actually landed on my feet and just walked it off. Scared the hell out of me, but luckily no injuries.

2. If you could pick anyone from the climbing history or the present climbers, who would you love to go climb with and why?
Josune Bereziartu. It’s Josune! No explanation needed.

3. What is your dream line?
An 8b in Montserrat called Lourdes. It’s a 50 meter route with a slight overhang and slab sections. It’s the cover of the guidebook, absolutely beautiful and amazing.

4. What's your favourite part of being in the Rafiki team?
The best part of Rafiki is the people behind the brand. It feels genuine, like being part of a community that shares the same values and love for climbing.

5. What's your advice for the climbers of all levels?
Climbing is not just a sport or numbers; it’s about feeling part of an incredible community that will always supports you. Don’t compete or compare yourself, enjoy every day climbing in nature, it’s the best oasis.
