ABOUT EDITA
I was born in Ústí nad Labem, but I grew up between Ústí and Tisá. I come from a climbing family, so I've been climbing since I was little. Besides climbing, I enjoy all kinds of activities—spending time with my daughter, travelling, exploring new places, camping, relaxing in cafés, watching good movies, and playing the ukulele and singing.
One of my biggest climbing achievements is that, despite several setbacks and periods of lost motivation throughout my life, I've always found my way back to climbing with renewed determination. As for specific achievements, I'm a multiple-time Czech National Lead Climbing Champion, I've climbed 8c, several 8b+ routes, and XIa on sandstone.

- Warm up or warming up by climbing? Half and half.
- Coffee or matcha? Both, but I drink coffee more often.
- Climb in silence or with music? It depends on my mood. When I'm training alone and need to get psyched, I like listening to something energetic. Outdoors, though, I prefer peace and the sounds of nature.
- Pull ups or hanging? Pull-ups. Hangs make my elbows hurt.
- Favourite snack in the crags? Bread with cheese, a banana, a cookie, and coffee.
- Lead or boulder? I enjoy both, but I still prefer lead climbing a little more. It suits me better.
- Alone or with group? In a group.
- Static or dyno? Static.
5 QUESTIONS FOR EDITA
1. What's your biggest f**k up in your climbing life?
Probably the fact that the higher I get, the more scared I become. On multi-pitch routes I sometimes make a scene—or even burst into tears because I'm so frightened.
2. If you could pick anyone from the climbing history or the present climbers, who would you love to go climb with and why?
I honestly don't know. I enjoy climbing with people who are at a similar level, so we can work out routes or boulders together. The most important thing is having a great atmosphere—no rivalry, just mutual support and good vibes.
3. What is your dream line?
I'd still love to climb another 8c someday.
4. What's your favourite part of being in the Rafiki team?
I love being able to wear comfortable and great-looking climbing clothes while doing what I enjoy most.
5. What's your advice for the climbers of all levels?
Always double-check each other, and always tie a knot at the end of the rope. Safety comes first!
