The unique climbing competition Street boulder contest was repeated this year and we dare to say that the event was even better than the one last year.
On Saturday, June 10, you could meet over 140 boulderers in the streets of Ústí nad Orlicí - either walking through the city with a crash pad on their backs, or solving unique urban boulder problems. The event kept a great atmosphere throughout the day, but mainly it gave climbers the opportunity to try terrains they wouldn't normally get to and passers-by a chance to see superb performances in places they pass by every day.
For a great success, climbers also this year saw the popular sector "Ementál", where there were two routes on perforated concrete blocks near the school. The climbers' strength was then tested by the new sector under the railway viaduct, where they experienced a slippery wide crack, topped with a ceiling rail. The finals took place in the atrium of the former Perla textile factory, where three boulders were prepared. These were best managed by Tereza Martincová and Lukáš Hacura.
We can only thank Zbyněk and other members of the Ústí climbing club for the organization and hope that this great project will be a tradition in the years to come.
